STEM SPOTLIGHT on Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering

Thursday, 1st March 2018

The 2018 STEM Spotlight on the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering welcomed 300 students from Bud Carson Middle School to USC to learn about Electrical Engineering by exploring our faculty research labs and interacting with student groups.

  • Students saw firsthand how professors conduct research in cutting-edge fields in electrical engineering (EE), including digital communication systems, photonics, and nanotechnology.
  • USC Viterbi Students Organizations offered hands-on learning projects on electrical forces and circuitry.
  • A panel of USC Viterbi alumni now working in a variety of jobs helped students imagine career pathways in EE.
