SHINE Scholarship Information
The mission of the USC Viterbi's K-12 STEM Center is to help provide STEM experiences to students, teachers, and schools that are disproportionately underrepresented in STEM; we also support inclusion and diversity within each SHINE cohort.
SHINE has a limited number of scholarships for students who demonstrate both income eligibility and academic merit.
✓ There is a section on the application to request a scholarship and also to upload documentation demonstrating applicant meets income eligibility (e.g., evidence of federally funded meal assistance, etc.)
Income eligibility is established by submitted documentation of Title 1 status for public school students or a principal's signed letter of financial need for private school students; other documentation of financial need can be considered on a case by case basis.
Please note: Final acceptance of all students, regardless of scholarship status, depends upon the professor, as the professor is responsible for the safety and management of the research group under federal funding requirements.
Questions about scholarships can be sent to k12stem1@usc.edu.
