According to Computer Science Education Week (CS Ed Week) organization “The CSEdWeek theme this year highlights the progress that has occurred in computer science education over the past decade. There have been many great advancements in making CS education more equitable and accessible for all learners. This year, we aim to celebrate our progress while keeping our eye on the advancements we still need to make so that every student has an equal opportunity to learn computer science.” More information about national CS Ed Week

USC Student Organization Panel - Hosted by RPL (Rocket Propulsion Lab)
Monday, December 5th at 1:00-2:00 PM
Description: We are the USC Rocket Propulsion Lab (RPL), a team of students who are making the most of our college experience by working together to design, build and launch rockets. The lab’s efforts over the past 16 years have gotten us past the earth’s atmosphere and into space. Come join us to learn more about all the different ways we use coding to design our rockets. You will have the chance to hear from four of our upperclassmen and ask questions. See you there!

Description: Are you a K-12 teacher, administrator or parent interested in learning about opportunities to engage your students in Computer Science? Join the USC Viterbi K-12 STEM Center team for an info session on CS Opportunities at USC! First learn about Code.org's Professional Learning Program for K-12 teachers (most teachers participate for free!). Then learn about CS@SC's engaging Coding Camps for K-12 students with curriculums designed by USC professors as well our scholarship process.

Brothers Code 2022 - Hosted by The Hidden Genius Project

Description: Brothers Code is an interactive, in-person event hosted on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 8:00am to 2:00pm in Los Angeles during Computer Science Education Week. This event is part of the larger Hour of Code initiative in partnership with Kapor Center, focused on introducing people all across the world to the basics of coding education. During this 10th Annual Brothers Code event, young people of color from middle to high school are invited to join us to learn more about the skills and networks that can guide them to exciting opportunities and careers within the technology sector.
