Group 5 Web Journal

Anne, Greg, Liana, Noah, Shelny, and Tom

This week, we had to work on three things simultaneously to get one end result. We were supposed to build:

1 remote control airplane with elevators & rudder capable of taking off, flying, and landing

1 space shuttle that mounts to

1 shuttle that glides to safety after being launched from the water bottle launcher.

 Engineering Professions Explored

Chemical Engineering:

Chemical engineers rely on their knowledge of mathematics and science, particularly chemistry, to overcome technical problems. They apply the principles of chemistry to solve problems that involve the production or use of chemicals in other projects. In this project, we used the principles of chemistry to help us confirm that our products will work and won't kill/severely harm anybody.

Aerospace Engineering:

Aerospace Engineers develop technologies for uses in aviation, defense systems, and space exploration, with specializations in structural design, guidance, navigation, and more. Every project we tackled this week has a strong connection to aviation, so we apply the skills of an aerospace engineer to help us work on the proojects throughout the week.
