What we offer

During the Energy of STEM Summer Camps, students will have the opportunity to explore concepts around Physics, Coding, Energy, Electronics and more! The camps will include demonstrations and lessons, hands-on projects and group-work, and time for connecting and sharing with peers in a fun, engaging environment. Activities will be led by SoCalGas employees with support of USC Viterbi Center staff and USC students​.​

Application Requirements

  • The two parts of the application must be received by the application deadline. Incomplete applications will NOT be considered. It is the responsibility of the student/parent/guardian to ensure that all application materials are received by the deadline.
  • Currently enrolled in the 3rd, 4th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade (rising Grades 4-5 and 9-12 in Fall 2025)
  • Priority will be given to active MESA, Mission Science and Engineering Transformer students and students at schools affiliated with the K-12 STEM Center; however, all students will be considered.

Note: Middle School Students that are applying for Summer Engineering Camp are automatically considered for Energy of STEM as their second backup option.

Who: Elementary school - currently enrolled in Grades 3-4 (rising 4th - 5th graders) 

High School - currently enrolled in Grades 8-11 (rising 9th - 12th graders)
