Programs for
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
CS@SC Summer Camps
CS@SC Summer Camps provide K-12 students with an opportunity to explore topics that are not typically covered in traditional curricula. CS@SC covers computer science courses which include stand-alone programming, web and game design, mobile app creation, and robotics. We offer the courses all year both virtually and in-person.
- Dates: June 23 - July 11 (In-Person), July 7 - August 1 (Virtual)
- Age group: Grades K - 12
- Virtual Schedule: Mondays - Fridays, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM PT or 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM PT (2 week class with 1 session covered daily)
- In-Person Schedule: Mondays- Fridays from 8:00 AM - 3 PM PT at USC (1 week class with 2 sessions covered each day)
- Cost: $200 for Virtual classes and $600 for In-Person classes
Energy Of STEM
During the camps, students will have the opportunity to explore concepts around Green Energy (elementary) and Electronics (high school). The camps will include demonstrations and lessons, hands-on projects and group-work, and time for connecting and sharing with peers in a fun, engaging environment. All materials needed for the camp will be provided and mailed to students' homes prior to the start of the camp, along with a camp schedule. Activities will be led by SoCal Gas, USC Viterbi Center staff, and USC students.

- Age group: Currently enrolled in Grades 3-4
- Schedule: 5 days
- Cost: Free
MIDDLE SCHOOL

Summer Engineering Camp
During the two week camp, students will explore aerospace, electrical, civil and mechanical engineering with hands-on activities such as rockets, circuits, bridges, and robots. Students will also explore computer science by learning to code and write apps.
- Dates: July 14 to July 25, 2025 (Monday to Friday of each week)
- Age group: Currently enrolled in Grade 5-7
- Format: In-person
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Cost: Free
Note: Students that are applying for Summer Engineering Camp are automatically considered for Energy of STEM as their second backup option.

MASTERMIND
We offer an interactive Mathematics Applying Science, Technology, Engineering's Relationships, Materials, Instruction, Numeracy, Delivery (MASTERMIND) program covering a broad range of topics, enabling students to build a solid understanding of algebraic and precalculus concepts, preparing them for the challenges of calculus and beyond. With hands-on learning and dynamic tools like ALEKS for personalized practice and MATLAB® for visualizing math in action.
- Dates: June 16 to July 11, 2025
- Age group: Grades 9-11
- Schedule: 5 days (Monday to Friday)
- Cost: Free
- Application Deadline: May 30, 2025
Discover Engineering
In this college course, students will explore various disciplines of engineering through academic lectures and classroom discussions. Students will gain practical experience through hands-on projects which involve designing, building and testing and will learn how to conduct research using design thinking and the engineering design process. Students receive 3 units of USC elective credit upon successful course completion.
- Dates: June 15 - July 12, 2025
- Age group: Completed at least 9th grade by June 15, 2025
- Cost: $7812

- Housing: None
- Requirements: Students who will not have completed Pre-Calc/Trig before June 15, 2025 but who wish to be considered for this course must submit the Pre-Calc/Trig Waiver with their application
